2015 Belmont Stakes
147th Belmont Stakes : Saturday, June 6th 2015
The Belmont Stakes is the third and final leg of the American Triple Crown, following on from the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. Staged at Elmont in New York it’s also the most demanding test for a young horse being over a distance of a mile and a half.
The event is in the top five of most viewed races in America and can turn into the biggest event of the year by far if a horse is going for the coveted Triple Crown.
Dating back to 1867 the first Saturday in June is a day many New Yorkers have pencilled in their diaries as the crowds flock to Belmont Park. Over 100,000 spectators have been known to visit the track on race day and in the lead up to the big race many events take place in what is known as the Belmont Festival.

Over $9million will be wagered on track at this years Belmont Stakes and with the American racing restricted to tote betting the British bookmakers will be offering an industry price for their customers.
Ante-post prices will be available in the build up to the race and all eyes will be on the other two Triple Crown races in the weeks prior to the last leg at Belmont Park.
